    Excellent food cutter

My sister told me about this product. I was a bit sceptical of its ability to chop hard veg, however I wasn’t disappointed. It made easy work of dicing a swede in just a few seconds. Sliced carrots, onions and chipped potatoes were created with ease. The machine sat firmly on the bench by way of suckers on the base and the guide makes sure your hands are no where near the blades. Cleaning of the blades was a little bit fiddly (hence the 4 stars for cleaning) but on the plus side there is no stripping down to do. A cleaning brush is provided with the machine to clean the blades. I would recommend this product.

Great for cooking safely with children

I really like this multi chopper it is very versatile and does the job well.I have used it for various fruit and vegetables. The chips I made with it worked well, I cooked them in the air fryer, they were a good thickness and crisped well.I found that soft fruits did not work in the machine but it excelled in hard fruits and vegetables. Slicing carrot into batons was great, dicing swede and slicing carrots for swede and carrot mash was a breeze.Cutting potatoes into slices was also great as the different thicknesses meant I could go very thin using the whole potato with limited wastage and no fear for you fingers like you would with a mandoline.I have used it to slice up vegetables in bulk for the baby food that I freeze its good for this purpose and cuts the food ready to cook and freeze on a tray to be reheated and mushed. As my partner found out the cleaning brush provided it essential to hand wash the machine otherwise it will have food stuck in it after cleaning. Its necessary to clean it as soon as you have finished with it otherwise the bits of food remaining will stick to the machine and become really difficult to remove.I feel confident with my toddler helping me with the cutting, The blades are kept away from his hand and he gets to push down the plunger. Depending on what you are cutting he will need help as it can be hard to go through harder veg like carrots and swede but it is great for him to learn and enjoy cooking with me.It clips together well, doesn’t move on the worktop due to the suction feet. When packing it away there is a blade guard to refit, it fits into my cupboard well too as the plunger clips in to make it as small as possible.I have a few different types of choppers, this one is excellent and an great new addition to my kitchen gadgets.

    Perfect!! 🙂

I really like this product; it helps me a lot.The reason I like it is because it’s super easy to use.It cuts all vegetables the way and the shape you wanted. It’s easy to clean with water; its dishwasher safe and you can store it any where in your kitchen. It’s super light not heavy and amazingly its speeds up your cooking. It’s useful when you have a guest at home that you don’t take time chopping your vegetables and fruitsI like how the potatoes are proceed so quickly. It’s safe as well; the blade is hidden ; safely without risk of finger injuries , all thanks to its unique, innovative safety designFuther mores it’s exercise for your hands and muscles as well.I would recommend it ; the price isn’t expensive and its affordable. 🙂

Easy assembly and works very well with smaller vegetable pieces.

After a day of researching all the mandolin slicers available online, I chose this “Once for All’s Safest Mandoline Slicer” because of its safety aspects and the innovative design. I bought it from Brieftons and it was delivered quickly and was assembled in about 2 minutes after reading the clear instructions. It is stable in use and has small suction cups on its feet to keep it from slipping. The slicer works very well in practice but accepts only small fruit and vegetables in its Feeder Hopper, which measures about 6x7cm. A medium sized onion didn’t quite fit in, so I had to cut it in half. See the attached images.

Excellent design, very efficient and easy to use.

The unit appears to be well made and cleverly designed. I used it for the first time to learn from the instruction leaflet that was supplied, and from watching a Youtube video on Amazon. It took a little while to find and operate the various controls but once you know where to look it becomes very easy to assemble, operate and pack the unit away. The results for the vegetables I tried were great and with a little experimentation I could produce everything I wanted. I did not try making potato chips but I feel sure that various sizes could be produced easily and quickly. It would be interesting to try making my own potato crisps with the slicer set very low.Cleaning the unit after use, and removing traces of vegetable from all the various sections was a bit tricky but the provided narrow brush was very helpful in this.Overall I am very impressed and would not hesitate to reccomend it.

the most safe slicer but not versatile enough

After using this slicer for some time, my conclusions are:Pros:- the most safe slicer on the market (kids can use this under adult’s supervision)Cons:- area to feed the fruits/veg is rather small (about 6cm max each side) plus the half oval shape as well as the angle of the feeding tube to the main body, most of the time you can not slice things without cutting them into smaller chunks (see pictures for maximum length you can feed into the tube). I normally have to cut a normal carrot length into 3. It is ok with root veg but not possible for a whole normal size apple or potato if you want round shape. You can not have long strips or julienne either due to this limitation.- proved difficult handling fruits/veg which have larger amount of moisture or a bit softer like ripe fruits. Eg, when things are cut into thin slices, more juice will come out & make slices stick to the blade & got stuck inside. Therefore the advertised “40 thickness levels” is not totally practical.I think this can be a better slicer if the feeding area is made larger & the angle of the tube is adjusted.

    Best chipper I’ve used!

The media could not be loaded.

With a 2.5 years old who LOVES chips, I find myself peeling and chipping potatoes at least twice a week. The whole process is tiring and laborious so I decided to go on a mission to find the best chipper I could. The Once For All isn’t the cheapest, nor is it the most expensive product you can buy, but the ease of use and safety is amazing. It’s so safe because of how well covered the blades are that I let my 2.5 year old help me with it and he loved it so much, he always helps me in the kitchen so was really happy to get to use this with me too!Potatoes slice easily without much force, and even while potatoes went in so no need for halving. The suction cups are effective, there’s no sharp plastic on the ashes, it’s well made and robust and I would highly recommend this to anyone. I’m definitely going to introduce it to all meal prep!

    WOW Amazing – Innovative

Sick to death of grating my fingers, I needed a salad slicer. I saw this product and really thought it was a gimic. It isn’t. It arrived on Amazon Prime next day and, I have used it for my salad already. I couldn’t help playing with all the different settings to change the slices etc. Used up two cucumbers, a bag of tomatoes already. It’s large enough to do a good amount of salad, veg etc. It’s built really well and doesn’t feel at all flimsy like it would snap if you exerted too much pressure. The Blade is tucked well inside and there is no way to cut your fingers, unless you stuff them in and bang the handle down.Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store. Feels the business, well worth that bit extra for something like this.Love it

    Safe and easy to use

I have only had this a few days, but I am very impressed, with what it can do and the safety aspect of it. especially after having and using a V slicer, which I found could be hard to slice carrots, parsnips, etc. safely,This product is marvelous, I have only used it a few times, but it is so easy to do chips, dice veg, [as you can see by the photos. I am going to try crisps next.It is nice to have a container that fits underneath, to catch the food, instead of it going all over the worktop. The cleaning side of it is really easy, just hold it under running water and use the brush if necessary.Just make sure the blades are set back as far as they will go, and not protruding.I also like the fact that you have a shield that locks on, and that the handle also locks, when not in use, which is an important feature, especially if you have children, or grandchildren and of course for your own safety.I keep this on my worktop all the time.It is very well designed and made, I am sure that it will last me for many years to come.If you have a problem cutting/slicing/dicing vegetables, this product is ideal. As you can see from the photos, it does what it says in the description. In one photo I have done Romaine lettuce, I will also do white cabbage for coleslaw.I’ve sliced and diced onions, carrots, potatoes. etc.It seems that this slicer, will slice everything with ease. You just have to have a bit of patience and take things slowly at the start.

    Chips in seconds

The media could not be loaded.

Takes about 5 minutes to familiarise yourself with the settings (googling what julienne means) and then it’s easy as pie. I’ve had other cutters that you have to put your full muscle into to get them to cut. This one glides through with barely any effort. So easy. Will be so quick to make some healthy carrot sticks or celery sticks in the morning before going to work or some low fat sweet potato chips. Really pleased with the product so far.I expect some of the bad reviews are people not understanding the instructions. To change to chips you have to rotate the knob a full 360 degrees until it stops.

    Unexpectedly good

This product is awesome. Slicing potatoes to make thin slices of fries is a breeze. It’s extremely easy to use and clean. The plastic feels sturdy and the blades are very sharp. We’ll see how well they lasts in time.

A kitchen gadget which earns its place on my worktop! Highly recommended

I have long had reservations about mandolins, purely on the grounds of safety – to be any good, those blades need to be really sharp – and also they are usually a faff to clean. This one wins hands down on both counts. Unless you do something incredibly stupid, the built in safety features (pusher/blade adjusters) mean your fingers need never come near the blades. Cleaning is simple, too, if you use the purpose-designed brush included.Unlike other mandolins I’ve tried, this one cuts right to the end of the vegetable, instead of leaving a solid lump which never gets near the cutting blades. The thickness can be adjusted almost endlessly; see photo of carrot slices and onions for examples. It also produces diced, julienned or chipped vegetables at the turn of a switch. The chips were so neat they looked positively regimented!Mixing the size and thickness of vegetables makes for much more interesting textures, especially in soups and casseroles. The mandolin also copes well with soft items such as tomatoes, producing slices rather than the irregular squashed offerings I normally manage with a ‘sharp’ knife. It is the only mandolin I’ve used which has a built-in catcher for what you’ve just sliced. Others just dump the stuff all over the place, but this has a smart little hopper which clicks into place below the blades. Is it worth getting the thing out of the cupboard? Yes. It only takes seconds to assemble, the suction cups stick it firmly to the work surface, the actual chopping/slicing takes only seconds, and cleaning is quick and easy.

Fantastic item so easy to use, even with arithritic hands and wrists

This was brought for my mother, here is her reviewMy Mandolin recently broke so my husband went looking for a slicer I would find easy due to the fact I have arthritis in my hands and wrists as we have ordered a few slicers but ended up sending them back. He was watching tv one evening and saw this slicer being advertised and ordered it from Amazon, and what a delight to feel adequate again I am able to prepare and chop all my vegetables and freeze them without asking my husband for help. I amtruly grateful for the little machine that hasn’t cost a fortune and has made me feel nearly whole, try it you won’t be sorry.
